SpectraFox checks by default on each start if there is an update available. You can turn this feature on and off in the Main Window.

If an update is available, it will show a hint in the lower right corner of the screen.

By clicking on this message the update window will open.

The central part of the window shows you the changelog of the new version. If you click on Install update, SpectraFox will close and start the setup. Just follow the instructions of the wizard. Usually you do not have to change any of the given default values.
