Sometimes the derivative of a dataset is helpful, e.g. to discover the maximum of a peak by the zero crossing of its derivative.
SpectraFox applies a smoothing filter in advance of taking the numeric derivative, since such a procedure is prone to noise.
- Select the data to calculate the numeric derivative from.
- Select the order of the derivative.
- Select the smoothing method to be applied in advance.
- Apply the numeric derivative, and save the output.
