Calculate the Numeric Derivative of Spectroscopy Data

Sometimes the derivative of a dataset is helpful, e.g. to discover the maximum of a peak by the zero crossing of its derivative.

SpectraFox applies a smoothing filter in advance of taking the numeric derivative, since such a procedure is prone to noise.

  1. Select the data to calculate the numeric derivative from.
  2. Select the order of the derivative.
  3. Select the smoothing method to be applied in advance.
  4. Apply the numeric derivative, and save the output.
