Spectra are often recorded under different measurement conditions, such as the initial tip-sample distance. Nevertheless a comparison between them is possible by normalizing them.
SpectraFox offers a tool to rescale data, so that a selected region is set to one. For this it applies a smoothing method to the data in advance, and then takes the average value of the selected range. It then divides the whole data by this averaged value.
To normalize a dataset proceed with the following:
- Select the value range to be set to one (A) with your mouse.
- Select the smoothing method which is applied in advance to the averaging procedure.
- Start the normalization, and check the output (C).
